Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Grid Hire Me, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Service Description

Grid Hire Me is a comprehensive job board platform designed for Second Life users. We provide:

  • A platform for businesses to post job opportunities
  • Tools for job seekers to find and apply for positions
  • Communication features to connect employers and applicants
  • Profile and skills management
  • Avatar portfolio showcase for applicants
  • Avatar verification system with trust scores
  • Premium subscription features for businesses
  • In-world integrations (messaging, payment terminals, job boards)
  • System status monitoring and incident reporting
  • Support ticket and feature request systems

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Post inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
  • Upload portfolio images containing illegal, copyrighted (without permission), or harmful content
  • Spam or harass other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system
  • Use automated tools to scrape or collect data
  • Attempt to manipulate verification scores or trust systems
  • Share verification codes with others or attempt to verify accounts you don't own
  • Use the service to send unsolicited messages or spam
  • Interfere with in-world integrations (payment terminals, welcome bots, etc.)

5. Job Postings

Businesses posting jobs agree to:

  • Post only legitimate job opportunities
  • Provide accurate job descriptions and requirements
  • Not discriminate based on protected characteristics
  • Comply with all applicable labor laws
  • Treat applicants fairly and professionally

6. Applications

Job seekers agree to:

  • Provide truthful information in applications
  • Only apply for positions they are genuinely interested in
  • Respect the application process and employer communications
  • Ensure portfolio images accurately represent their work
  • Maintain accurate profile information and skills

7. Verification System

By using the verification system, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate avatar information (name, UUID)
  • Not share verification codes with others
  • Not attempt to verify accounts you don't own
  • Accept that verification results are final (subject to appeal process)
  • Understand that trust scores are calculated automatically and may change as verifications are approved/rejected
  • Accept that some verification items require manual review and may take time

Verification is optional but recommended for building trust with employers. False or fraudulent verification attempts may result in account suspension.

8. Premium Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are subject to the following terms:

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in Linden Dollars (L$)
  • Payments are processed via secure in-world payment terminals
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis
  • Premium features are available immediately upon payment confirmation
  • If payment fails, premium features are suspended until payment is received
  • We reserve the right to modify premium features and pricing with notice

9. Content Rights

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a license to use, display, and distribute it as necessary to operate the service. This includes:

  • Job postings and descriptions
  • Profile information and bios
  • Portfolio images and descriptions
  • Application materials (cover letters, etc.)
  • Company branding and logos (for premium accounts)

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms, contains illegal material, infringes on copyrights, or is otherwise inappropriate. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to post any content you upload.

10. Disclaimer

Grid Hire Me is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy of job postings or user profiles
  • Interactions between users
  • Employment outcomes or disputes
  • Third-party services (including Second Life, SmartBots, payment processors)
  • Verification outcomes or trust score calculations
  • In-world message delivery delays or failures
  • Payment terminal malfunctions or transaction issues
  • System downtime or service interruptions
  • Data loss due to technical issues or security breaches

11. Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Loss of business opportunities
  • In-world payment transaction issues
  • Verification delays or rejections
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Third-party service failures (SmartBots, Second Life, etc.)

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including:

  • Fraudulent verification attempts
  • Abuse of in-world messaging systems
  • Payment fraud or chargebacks
  • Posting illegal or harmful content
  • Harassment or abuse of other users
  • Attempting to manipulate the system

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination:

  • Your access to the service will be revoked
  • Active Premium subscriptions will be cancelled (no refunds for unused time)
  • Your data will be deleted according to our data retention policy
  • Some anonymized records may be retained for business purposes

13. In-World Services

By using in-world services (payment terminals, welcome bots, job boards, status displays), you agree:

  • To use services only for their intended purpose
  • Not to attempt to hack, modify, or interfere with LSL scripts
  • To respect parcel permissions and land owner rights
  • That welcome messages and group invites are sent automatically when visiting partner locations
  • That visitor activity may be logged for analytics and security
  • That payment terminals are secure but transactions are subject to Second Life's terms

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Significant changes will be communicated via dashboard notices or email.

15. Second Life Notice

Second Life® is a registered trademark of Linden Research, Inc. Grid Hire Me is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Linden Research. SmartBots is a third-party service used for in-world messaging and is not affiliated with Grid Hire Me.
