What is my UUID and why is it shown?

- General: Safe for all audiences

Avatar Verification
What is avatar verification?
Avatar verification is a system that helps build trust between applicants and employers. By verifying your avatar information, you earn a trust score and verification badges that appear on your profile. This helps employers identify verified, trustworthy candidates.
How does verification work?
Verification uses a simple, unified process:
- Click "Request Verification Code" on your verification page
- You'll receive a 6-digit code via in-world IM from the Grid Hire Me bot
- Enter the code on the website
- The system automatically verifies what it can (avatar name, account age if possible)
- Items that require manual review (payment info, identity) are flagged for our team
- Your trust score and badges update as verifications are approved
What gets verified automatically?
When you enter your verification code, the following items are automatically verified if possible:
- Avatar Name: Verified if your SL avatar name matches your account
- Account Age: Auto-verified if we can determine your account age, otherwise requires manual review
Items that always require manual review by our team:
- Payment Information: Requires verification of payment method on file
- Identity: Additional identity verification for enhanced trust
What is a trust score?
Your trust score is a percentage (0-100%) that reflects how many verification items you've completed. Each verified item adds 25% to your score:
- Avatar Name Verified: +25%
- Account Age Verified: +25%
- Payment Info Verified: +25%
- Identity Verified: +25%
A higher trust score helps employers identify reliable, verified candidates. Verified applicants often receive more consideration from employers.
I didn't receive my verification code. What should I do?
If you didn't receive your verification code via IM:
- Make sure your Second Life avatar name and UUID are correctly entered in your profile
- Check that you're logged into Second Life and can receive IMs
- Wait a few minutes - delivery can sometimes be delayed
- Click "Resend Code" on the verification page
- If problems persist, contact support for assistance
Note: Verification codes expire after 10 minutes for security reasons.
How long does manual verification take?
Manual verification reviews are typically processed within 2-3 business days. You'll receive a notification when your verification status changes. If additional information is needed, our team will contact you.
Can I verify my account without a Second Life avatar?
Verification requires a Second Life avatar name and UUID to send the verification code via in-world IM. If you don't have a Second Life account, you can still use Grid Hire Me, but you won't be able to complete the verification process. Some employers may prefer verified applicants.
